Hi! My name is Neil Munro, and I've spent the last 38 years of my life playing, writing music and teaching the guitar for a living. Over the years, I have taught a variety of different styles of guitar music to literally thousands of pupils, many of whom have themselves gone on to enter the music profession.

I have taught in many different situations including private pupils, seminars, school teaching, in-service courses for teachers and workshops. Currently, most of my work is in a school, where I teach children from 10-17 years of age; the rest of my teaching work is to more advanced private pupils - this is where Skype comes in!

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I can now offer lessons online to intermediate and advanced students. Click on the links at the top of the page to find out more about my methods for teaching these different approaches to the techniques of the guitar. At the foot of this page is a video collage of my playing brief snatches of some of the styles I teach.

So how does it work? what will you need to learn in this way? Well firstly, you will need a good internet connection. Next - a computer with a webcam and a microphone - many computers have these built into them these days. You may also wish to use headphones - this is advisable, but not essential. You will need Skype software and a Skype account - these are free. You will need a Paypal account, also available free. Many people have these things anyway - if you don't, click on the links on the right of this page to get them, it only takes a few minutes.

Have a look round the rest of the site - after you have done so, if you are interested in having some lessons, contact me by email at skypeguitartuition@rocketmail.com and I will get back to you to arrange a (free) meeting with you on Skype to have a brief chat about your musical goals and also to check that your connection is going to be suitable. We can then jointly decide if online lessons using Skype are appropriate for you, and we can continue from there to booking your first lesson. Lessons last 40 minutes, and cost £20 or the equivalent in any currency - as soon as you have made your payment via Paypal, I will contact you by email to set up a lesson at a time convenient for both of us.

If you are a complete beginner you would, in all honesty, be better having one to one lessons with a good teacher in person; if you are even moderately experienced however, and you are looking for professional advice and tuition in order to take your playing up a level or two, this may be just what you need, and it's huge advantage over other methods of tuition is that you don't have to leave your own home to have lessons.
